Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame

This year the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame hired us to re-brand their identity based on their new strategic plan. This meant a new logo and a new website that highlighted the heritage of the hall, but also appealed to a younger crowd and had a modern flare. We spent many late night, caffeine induced nights making sure their new brand reflected their new strategic plan, and we think we nailed it!

The hall has been around for over 50 years, so their new logo induces a feeling of athleticism and sport, while at the same time providing the classic feeling of and heritage and prestige. It also provides the hall with a more modern vibe with the use of bright orange, sleek lines and subtle overlays.

Their new website features full inductee pages with features such as photo galleries, video embedding and Google maps; an extensive inductee directory that can be viewable by sport, inductee type, gender, and so on; a basic and advanced search option to make it easy for the user to filter down to a specific inductee; and a complete mobile friendly layout on mobile devices such as iPhone’s and Blackberry’s. Our main goal with the website was to make it as informative and extensive as possible while ensuring that the browsing experience was simplistic and clean as possible.

Rockstar Homes

Rockstar Homes approached us to redesign their website. They wanted a clean, professional look but also wanted a design that would make you want to untuck your shirt, put down that hair, and let loose! Did it work? It did for us! Their new website has some pretty rad features built-in too, like a custom listings area, newsletter sign up and video embedding. So loosen up that tie, haul out your Zeppelin tee, and start browsing!

Seafood Express (PEI) Ltd.

Seafood Express is one of the leading transport companies in Atlantic Canada and they hired us to redesign their dated website. They wanted a website that not only looks great, but is easy to use. As an international company, Seafood Express hires truckers from around the globe. Their website needed to have a clean user interface and it needed to be a one-stop-shop for prospective truckers to find out more information on the company, apply for jobs with a clean and simple online job application, and check out the benefits of being hired by Seafood Express.

We hired Command Base Creative to redesign our website. We wanted a much more modern website, with a user interface that is both pleasing and easy to use. At Seafood Express, we have a lot of prospective drivers who come to Atlantic Canada from Europe and they use our website to find out company information, apply for jobs, and read up on recent news.We have worked closely with Command Base Creative on the design and implementation of our website redesign project. We are extremely pleased with the results, professionalism and layout of our new website.

Executive Source Partners

Executive Source Partners is an executive search and leadership consulting firm, based out of Regina, SK. When they approached us, their website was out of date, lacking new technologies and wasn’t that user-friendly. Our approach to redesigning their website was based on the fact that we wanted to re-organize their content and the layout of the website to make it easier for their users and clients to navigate around their content. We also wanted to introduce some new features as well.

We’ve equipped Executive Source Partners with a brand new job board, where they can post jobs, accept resumes, and so on. Users can read through job applications and upload their resumes on the jobs they want to apply to right on their website. We’ve also included a secure client portal, where both parties can share documents, images and videos, comment on document changes and upload new documents as they see fit.

Dalhousie Gazette

The Gazette is the Dalhousie University student-run newspaper and is the oldest of it’s kind in North America (awesome, right?). We were approached by the Gazette to completely redo their website and we really wanted to focus on two main issues. In the past, the Gazette website was not only confusing and hard to understand for the end-user but it was just as hard for the Gazette staff to use. With the redesign we focussed on a clean and easy-to-navigate user interface for the readers, and a backend that was just as easy to use for the writers and contributors of the newspaper. Oh, and we also decided to make a mobile web app that you can download onto any iPhone, iPad, Blackberry or Android. Pretty swell, huh?

Our experience with Command Base was beyond first-rate. They were able to accommodate our tight deadlines and last-minute changes, all without trouble. The final product us great aesthetically, easy to use and affordable even within our tight budget. Working with Andy and Corbin has been a pleasure. We’re delighted with our new website and with everything Command Base has done for us, and would recommend them to anyone.

I Backpack Canada

I Backpack Canada is an award winning travel blog and guide to Canada. It is run by Command Base’s very own, Corbin Fraser. The design features subtle textures, modern CSS3 animations, easy to read type and an overall style that keeps people coming back for more. Social integration has also been amped up on this site to encourage readers to share. The sliding social buttons are based off of a similar trend started by Mashable, which has helped make them become the online moguls they are today. I Backpack Canada uses large images to help showcase each blog post. A full width blog style was recently incorporated into the website for use in Photo Essays.

Alport Group Wealth Management

Alport Group is a wealth management company based out of Regina, Saskatchewan. They wanted to rebuild their website so they could take part in the social aspect of the web, such blogging and social media integration. While they had been online for many years, Alport felt they needed to participate within their community and develop a more online presence. With their new website, the president, Stephen Alport, is able to share his knowledge online, without having to learn any markup languages.

We were also given the opportunity to put together a magazine ad for Alport Group, which was printed in Horizons Magazine. This printed ad helped promote the new website and included some of the designs used for the newly designed website.
